Safety comes first at Outdoor Lighting & Energy

Why DOT Compliance Matters

Outdoor Lighting & Energy operates bucket trucks that exceed 25,999 lbs. We require our lighting technicians to hold a valid Commercial Drivers License. Doing so holds us to a high standard of excellence on the road and in your parking lots.

Why do we do this?

Quite honestly, we believe in using the best equipment for the job. Our trucks allow us to work both safely and efficiently. We reach a lot of parking lot pole lights, signs and canopies that our competitors can’t. We stock more material on our trucks than our competitors can. We move a lot faster, charging you less time for the work performed. We don’t have to say we’re sorry we’ll have to come back later with a different piece of equipment or a different part.

Equally important, we believe in hiring the best employees. The CDL requirement weeds out a lot of people who aren’t willing to take on the added responsibility that a CDL requires. A willingness to obtain a CDL demonstrates a candidate’s commitment to operating equipment safely. It’s a condition of employment at Outdoor Lighting & Energy.

Operating in this fashion means we adhere to the US Dept. of Transportation’s Federal Motor Carriers Safety Administration Compliance Safety Accountability program. This means our drivers are randomly drug and alcohol tested on a regular basis. Their driving records are reviewed and verified at least once a year. We know where our drivers are and how long they are spending on each job because this requires meticulous recording keeping that must hold up to DOT audits.

Our work is safety sensitive. We believe in making a true commitment to best safety practices. DOT Compliance holds the company and our lighting technicians accountable.
